UN Environment Brussels Liaison Office to the EU
Established in April 2001, UN Environment's Liaison Office to the EU in Brussels works closely with the EU institutions to increase policy dialogue and build strategic partnerships that fulfill the shared goals of UNEP and the EU. Since 22 April 2014, the office is headed by Ulf Bjornholm-Ottosson.
UN Environment has a strong partnership with the EU institutions, focused on policy dialogue and programmatic cooperation. In 2004, it signed a Memorandum of Understanding(MoU) with the European Commission, and a joint statement in 2011. UN Environment works closely with the European Parliament and the European Economic and Social Committee and has MoUs with the Committee of the Regions, the Joint Research Centre, and the European Environmental Agency.
UN Environment is pleased to work with a number of major groups & stakeholders (MGS) active on environment for development in Brussels, both outside and inside the environment and development sectors.

UN Environment Vienna Liaison Office - Secretariat of the Carpathian Convention
Located in Vienna, UN Environment's Liaison Office was established in 2004 with the main purpose of servicing the Carpathian Convention as its Secretariat (SCC).
SCC supports the implementation of the Carpathian Convention, promotes ratification and facilitates cooperation between the signatory states as well as other relevant international bodies and conventions, encourages and supports research, communication and information exchange between partners, coordinates the preparation and implementation of the work programme under the Convention, prepares relevant documentation and supports further institutional development. The office is headed by Harald Egerer.
Moreover, UN Environment Vienna is UN Environment Europe's focal point for environmental cooperation with Central and South-Eastern European countries and coordinates the delivery of UN Environment's programme of work in this part of Europe as well as it acts as a liaison between UN Environment and organizations based in Vienna and in the region.
